Here is my review of the Samsonite Under the Seat Spinner with USB Port
The main criteria when looking for a good med bag are the following:
Will it fit under the airplane seat?
Is it big enough to hold my medicine / equipment?
Ease to carry / wheel?
It’s important to have a bag that fits under the seats, in case the plane has limited overhead space.
This bag’s dimensions are 16.5 x 13.75 x 9 inches, which fits under most airplane seats, with room to spare for your feet.
Packed with my entire stackable medicine case (check out the post where I talk about this great device), it is a little on the smaller size. This can be offset by organizing the bag well to pack everything in.
A downside is that this bag only contains one side pocket, while most other bags have two. The plus side to this is that the pocket has a USB port, which may be handy to those who have external batteries and need to charge items on the go.
While this USB port can be useful, it does lessen the space in the bag.
The main attraction to this bag is the ease in which you can wheel and carry it through the airport. It’s a 4 spinner, so it can be wheeled in all directions. Compared to a normal 2 spinner bag, you do not need to exert much effort to pull this bag to and from your destination. It easily glides down the tiled airport walkways. Be aware, it is a little difficult to roll on the carpeted jetways and runways of planes. Since this is the shortest distance when traveling, it does not make this bag unwanted.
The other great thing about this bag is the back slip, so that you can slide this over any other luggage.
When I have my multiple bags, this feature makes it so much easier to get around.
Despite the lack of interior space, overall this is a great option for a med bag. The 360 4 spinners make this easy to handle and maneuver on its own, but with the addition of the back slip, it’s convenient to bring along with other bags overall.
